In this May 2022 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the segment-wise sales figures along with the YoY and MoM change for each carmaker in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all body-styles for the last 6 months will give you an idea about their 6-month sales trend.

Segment-Wise May 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change

In terms of YoY change, D2 segment was the biggest gainer posting a 572% YoY improvement followed by D1 segment with 524% YoY improvement
The B2 and C segments saw the lowest gain with YoY sales of 148% and 159%, respectively

Segment-Wise May 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change

The A segment was the biggest loser with a 7.9% MoM drop followed by C segment posting a MoM change of 3.3%
D2 segment saw the MoM sales increase by 23.2% followed by B1 with 22.2% improvement
D1 segment also posted healthy MoM gains of 20.8% in May 2022
