Maruti Suzuki Baleno Clocks 1 Million Sales In 6 Years | V3Cars
Maruti Suzuki have announced that they managed to sell 1 million units of the Baleno since its launch. Baleno is a premium hatchback from the Indo-Japanese carmaker that was launched under the Nexa branch in October 2015. It is now the fastest premium hatchback to achieve a sales figure of 1 million units.
Baleno has always got more sales figures than its competition. Maruti claim that Baleno has more than 25% of the segment’s share. It has competed with Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Ford Figo, Volkswagen Polo and Honda Jazz. Ford Figo is no longer on sale. Baleno still manages to clock more sales than all these mentioned cars. The Baleno is not just a best-seller among its peers but across all segments.
Some notable features of the Baleno are LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, idle start-stop, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a full-colour LCD for MID in the instrument cluster.
The safety features on Baleno include Dual Airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, ISOFIX child restraint, high-speed alert, reverse parking sensors and camera.
The Baleno has a 1.2L petrol engine with optional mild-hybrid tech. You can buy it with either a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. The engine specs of Baleno are:
