Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Breaks Cover — Most Fuel-Efficient SUV In Its Segment | V3Cars
Maruti Suzuki have taken the wraps off the 2022 Grand Vitara Hybrid SUV. The unveiling of the new Grand Vitara marks 7 successful years of the Nexa brand in the country. The new Grand Vitara shares its platform, features and engine options with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Maruti Suzuki are likely to launch the new Grand Vitara around the festive season later this year.
On the design front, the new Grand Vitara comes with a tri-beam LED DRLs upfront, flanking the large honeycomb-mesh grille in the middle. The lower part of the bumper houses the projector LED headlights and a beefy skid plate. Like the Hyryder, the Grand Vitara lacks fog lights. At the side, the Grand Vitara comes with thin body cladding and a strong character line across the length of the SUV. At the rear, it gets LED tail lights and ‘Grand Vitara’ lettering on the tailgate.

On the inside, the new Grand Vitara comes with a similar dashboard layout as that of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It gets a 9.0-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment in the middle, which sit atop the AC vents. Also part of the package is a 7.0-inch colour LCD instrument cluster.

On the powertrain front, the Grand Vitara will come with a 1.5L mild hybrid petrol engine and a 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine. The former will also get 4-wheel-drive with terrain modes. The 1.5L normal petrol engine produces 103PS of power and 137Nm of torque at 4400rpm. This comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The 1.5L strong hybrid engine, on the other hand, produces 116PS of power and 122Nm of torque between 4400rpm and 4800rpm.
