March 2023 Cars Sales Analysis - B2-Segment SUV YoY, MoM Change, 6-Month Trend | V3Cars

In this March 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all B2-segment SUVs in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all B2-segment SUVs for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.

B2-Segment SUV March 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change

Among B2-segment SUVs, Brezza was the top-selling car with over 16,000 units sold in March 2023 compared to just shy of 12,500 in March 2022, which is a YoY growth of 30.45%.
Mahindra Bolero emerged as the top gainer in the category with a YoY growth of 37.87%. Just over 10,000 units of the Bolero were sold by Mahindra in March 2023 compared to 9,200 units in the March of 2022.
Maruti Brezza was the second top gainer in the category, with a 38% YoY growth in March comparison.
On the contrary, Honda WR-V became the top loser, with over 98% YoY decline in dispatches in March 2023.
Renault Kiger was the second loser in March 2023 YoY comparison, with a decline of 37% compared to March 2022.
Honda have discontinued the WR-V.
Toyota have discontinued the Urban Cruiser.
Three new cars were introduced in the category - the C3 and eC3 by Citroen and XUV400 by Mahindra.

B2-Segment SUV March 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change

The Brezza and Nexon were the only cars in the category with 5-figure sales numbers in February, and were joined by the Venue in the month of March
Citroen posted very healthy MoM growth figures for both its cars in the segment, 850% plus for C3 and 300% plus for eC3.
Disregarding the numbers of Citroen cars because of their very low volume in the market, the Nissan Magnite was the top gainer in the category, with a 49% MoM growth in monthly dispatches in March 2023.
The Magnite was followed by XUV300, with 34.63% MoM growth in March 2023.
Only 3 cars reported an MoM decline in the month of March - Renault Kiger with 13% drop, Kia Sonet with 11.8% drop and Mahindra Bolero with a 2.41% drop.
