Mahindra XUV700 To Get A Panoramic Sunroof | V3Cars
Mahindra has already confirmed that it will launch the XUV700 by September 2021. And as we are moving close to the launch, the carmaker is giving us glimpses of the upcoming 7-seater SUV. In the latest teaser video, Mahindra has confirmed that the new XUV700 will be equipped with a panoramic sunroof. Christened the Skyroof, Mahindra claims it will be the biggest sunroof in the segment with the dimensions of 1360mm x 870mm (LxW).
Other features that will make way to the new XUV700 include Mercedes-like dual-screen setup for the touchscreen and instrument cluster, connected car tech, dual-zone AC, ambient lighting, up to 6 airbags, front and rear parking sensors and powered front seats. The SUV will also get first-in-class Level-1 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) including lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
Talking about the design, from what we have seen in the spy shots, the XUV700 gets a huge front grille flanked by upswept LED headlamps with L-shaped DRLs flowing into the bumper. The bumper is also new with a wide central air dam flanked by LED fog lamps. The side profile gets the steeped window line and a sloping roofline, like the XUV500. It also gets flush door handles, new alloy wheels and rear disc brakes. Coming to the back, the new SUV gets a flatter profile with a large rear windshield and horizontally aligned tail lamps which might be connected by a trim element.
Under the hood, the XUV700 will get both petrol and diesel engine options and manual and automatic transmission options. It is expected to share its engines and transmissions with the new Thar. On the XUV700, the 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine is likely to make around 190PS while the 2.2-litre diesel is expected to churn out around 180PS. On the Thar, petrol and diesel engines make 150PS and 130PS, respectively. Both the engines are expected to be offered with a 6-speed manual transmission as well as a 6-torque converter automatic transmission. Mahindra has also confirmed that the XUV700 will be offered with an optional 4WD system.
Prices of the XUV700 are expected to range from Rs 16 lakh to Rs 22 lakh. It will take on the likes of the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and the recently launched Hyundai Alcazar.
