Mahindra To Launch XUV400 Electric In September | V3Cars

Mahindra are set to launch the XUV400 Electric in September. The XUV400 Electric will be the 1st all-electric SUV from Mahindra. The XUV400 Electric will launch in September, while the eKUV100 will go on sale at a later date.

The new XUV400 Electric will be longer than the XUV300. Mahindra have already confirmed that the XUV400 will measure around 4.2 metres, making it longer than both the XUV300 and Nexon EV. Thanks to the increase in length, the XUV400 will offer more boot space than the 257L boot space of the XUV300. It could even offer better legroom than it’s ICE-powered sibling.

When launched, the XUV400 is expected to rival the Nexon EV Max, Hyundai Kona Electric and the MG ZS EV. While the specifications of the XUV400 are scarce, we expect it to feature a 40kWh battery pack along with a 150PS electric motor. The electric motor is likely to power the front wheels only via a single-speed automatic transmission. The Mahindra XUV400 could offer a claimed range of over 400km on a single charge, along with fast charging capabilities.

On the design front, the XUV400 Electric is likely to feature an enclosed grille up front, flanked by LED headlights. As per the latest spy shots, the XUV400 Electric will miss out on the L-shaped LED DRLs seen on the XUV300. It is interesting to note that the XUV400 Electric will have the charging port on its front left fender. Around the back, the XUV400 Electric will get a set of new LED tail lights along with a reprofiled tailgate. With the increase in length, we expect the XUV400 Electric to look a lot more proportionate than the XUV300.
