The Rs. 50,000 asking price for the 3 additional features is a little high. Especially considering that Maruti Suzuki throw in the ESC and HSA as bonus features with their AMT automatics at no extra cost. Meanwhile, their cars like the Grand Vitara and Brezza get these features as standard. We wish Mahindra offered these features as standard in all variants to further bring them within reach of budget-conscious buyers.

Mahindra Scorpio N Diesel Variants Explained - Which One To Buy?

During the launch of the Scorpio N, Mahindra had announced that the introductory prices will remain applicable only for the first 25,000 bookings. However, they haven’t revised the prices since launch. This suggests that the demand for cars, especially bigger ones, is cooling off and raising the prices at such a sensitive moment could affect demand. The Z2 (E) and Z4 (E) variants could soon replace the Z2 and Z4 variants, respectively. Thus, Mahindra could use these features to justify the price hike.

Meanwhile, Mahindra are also looking to introduce the more affordable 2WD variants of the Thar with a smaller 1.5L diesel engine. A sub-4m length and the 1.5L diesel engine will help them qualify for the lower tax bracket, making the Thar much more affordable.
