2022 Mahindra Scorpio Classic Spied — Launch Soon | V3Cars
After announcing prices for the all-new Scorpio N, Mahidra are gearing up to launch the existing Scorpio with a host of updates and a new name — the Scorpio Classic. The new Scorpio Classic will come with a couple of cosmetic and functional enhancements, along with the new twin peaks Mahindra logo.
Thanks to the cult fanbase of the current-gen Scorpio, Mahindra decided to keep it on sale alongside the new Scorpio N. It will get a new Scorpio N spec grille with the new twin peaks logo in the middle. Around the side, it will get a new set of alloy wheels and side sills. At the back, we can not judge the changes made to the tail lights thanks to the camouflage. We can, however, expect a new design for the tail lights and the new logo on the tailgate.

On the inside, the spy pictures reveal the same upright dashboard as before. Speaking of the changes, the old steering wheel gets the new twin peaks logo whereas we also get to see a bigger touchscreen infotainment system. However, it doesn’t seem like a branded unit but an aftermarket one. We can also expect the addition of a wireless phone charger and a couple of faux wooden inserts.
On the powertrain front, the new Scorpio Classic will come with the same 2.2L turbo diesel engine that we get with the base variants of the Scorpio N. The 2.2L turbo diesel engine will produce 130PS of power and 300Nm of torque. Mahindra will offer the Scorpio Classic with only a 6-speed manual transmission and a rear-wheel-drive setup.

The leaked document reveals that Mahindra will offer the Scorpio Classic in 5 variants — S 7-seater, S 9-seater, S11 7-seater, S11 9-seater, S11 7-seater with captain chairs. The Scorpio Classic will sit below the Scorpio N. However, its S11 variants may clash with the low and mid variants of the Scorpio N.
