Lexus LBX Exterior Design
The Lexus LBX shares its underpinnings with the Toyota Yaris Cross and sits on Toyota’s GA-B global platform. The new LBX, which stands for Lexus Breakthrough Crossover, introduces a new design for Lexus’ signature ‘spindle’ grille. The front grille is now broken into 2 pieces and it is likely to make its way into future Lexus offerings. Furthermore, the LBX offers sleek LED headlights with arrow-shaped LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels and connected LED tail lights.

Lexus LBX Interior And Features
On the inside, the Lexus LBX offers a flowing centre console that houses the new 9.8-inch touchscreen system. The new infotainment system comes with a vertical orientation and offers Android Auto and Apple Carplay, where only the latter offers wireless connectivity. Furthermore, the LBX also offers a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a wraparound dashboard design with continuous air-con vents and a multi-function steering wheel with paddle shifters.
Lexus LBX Engine And Transmission
The new Lexus LBX offers Toyota’s new-gen self-charging 1.5L strong hybrid powertrain. The 3-cylinder petrol engine is mated to a couple of electric motors and combined, the system produced peak power and torque outputs of 134bhp and 185Nm, respectively. The engine charges a new nickel-metal hydride battery that is smaller, more powerful and lighter than before. The LBX offers the option of both 2WD and 4WD drivetrain options, with the latter using an electric motor mounted on the rear axle along with a more sophisticated double wishbone suspension.
