Kia Become The Fastest Carmaker To Achieve 5 Lakh Sales In India | V3Cars

Kia India have completed the 5 lakh sales milestone within 3 years from launch. While the Seltos remains the best-selling Kia in India, the Carens, too, made a huge contribution to achieve the milestone, with over 30,000 units sold since launch. Kia’s accumulated sales, including exports, now stand at 6,34,224 units.

Kia offer 5 models in India — Seltos, Sonet, Carnival, EV6 and the Carens. The Seltos remains the highest-selling Kia in the country, with over 59% share in Kia’s portfolio. On the other hand, Kia sold 30,953 units of the Carens since its launch.

Kia India now contribute 6% to Kia's global sales. Speaking of vehicle share, the Seltos contributed 59%, the Sonet contributed 32% and the Carens contributed 6.2% in Kia’s sales. Thanks to the great response from the market, Kia India achieved their last 1 lakh sales in a short period of 4 and a half months.

Commenting on the achievement, Mr. Myung-Sik Sohn, chief sales officer of Kia India stated, “In the short 3 years in India, we have not only established ourselves as the trend leading and inspiring brand but have also led the adoption of new technologies. I would like to attribute Kia India’s success to everyone who is and has been a part of the ecosystem. Most importantly, I would like to extend my deepest gratitude towards our customers who have kept their trust in the brand even in adverse situations like the global supply chain issues. I proudly say today that we have earned a space in the hearts of Indian consumers, and that’s our biggest achievement.”

Going further, Kia India are gearing up to update their best-selling model, the Seltos SUV, with a facelift. Kia have already revealed the Setos facelift in the South Korean market and the local testing of the facelifted model has already begun. We expect Kia India to showcase the Seltos facelift at the 2023 Auto Expo.
