June 2023 Cars Sales Analysis - Hatchback YoY, MoM Change, 6-Month Trend | V3Cars
In this June 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all hatchbacks in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all hatchbacks for the last 6 months will give you an idea about their 6-month sales trend.
Hatchbacks Segment June 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- In terms of sales, the B1-hatchback segment was the best-selling segment in the Indian market. 52,6129 out of 1,01,987 hatchbacks were B1-segment cars, which makes up to about 50% of the total sales of the hatchbacks in the month of June.
- The S-Presso was the best performing hatchback in June 2023 YoY comparison, with a 319% rise in dispatches as compared to June 2022.
- The Glanza was the second best performing car in the category, with a 207% YoY growth in June 2023.
- Glanza was followed by the Tiago hatchback from Tata with a 53% YoY growth in June 2023 compared to June 2022.
- The Celerio from Maruti was the biggest loser, with around 60.85% decline in sales. The Kwid was the second biggest loser with a 47.30% decline in dispatches in the June YoY comparison.
- The cars that were discontinued are:
- Honda Jazz (Discontinued in 2023)
- Hyundai Santro (Discontinued in 2022)
- Volkswagen Polo (Discontinued in 2022)

Hatchback Segment June 2023 Car Sales - MoM Change
- The WagonR claimed the top spot, with about 17,481 units sold in the month of June.
- The top notable MoM gainers are:
- Kwid with 69.26% rise
- Altroz with 33.76% rise
- Alto pair with 20.87% rise
- Renault Kwid was the top gainer for the June comparison.
- The Glanza emerged as the top MoM loser in the month of June with a 33% drop in dispatches in June compared to May.
