In this June 2022 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all D-segment cars in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all D-segment cars for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.

SUVs and MPVs rule the D-segment with XUV700, Carens, Harrier and Fortuner in top 4 spots
In June, Toyota Fortuner took the 4th spot from the Toyota Innova Crysta with higher production numbers
The top 10 spots in the bestselling D-segment cars are all SUVs or MPVs
Together, the Harrier and Safari posted a spectacular figure of almost 5,000 units but still short of the XUV700’s 6,000+ dispatches in June 2022; MG and Mahindra don’t provide separate figures for their 5-seater and 7-seater D-segment SUVs

D-Segment Cars June 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change

In terms of MoM performance, out of the mass market cars, the Fortuner witnessed the biggest gain of 164.6%
Innova Crysta was another top gainer with an MoM gain of 148% in June 2022
Most low volume cars saw a decline in monthly production
