In this June 2022 cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change for the 20 top-selling cars of June 2022. Based on the data, we’ll also share our observations and possible reasons for big improvement or massive decline where applicable.

June 2022 - 20 Top-Selling Cars YoY Change

The top 11 best selling cars in June 2022 are all above 10,000 units a month.
8 models on the top 20 bestselling list in June 2022 are from Maruti Suzuki, whereas there were 10 in May YoY comparison.
The Celerio still has the best YoY improvement, showing an improvement of 1055% in the month of June.
The next best YoY performer in June 2022 after Celerio is Innova Crysta from Toyota, with a growth of 128.5%, followed by Hyundai’s Venue with 112% growth and Tata’s Nexon with 78% growth.
Considering the unusual circumstances in May 2021, many cars showed very low sales figures and low percentage change in sales. The situation improved manyfolds in the month of June YoY comparison as the automobile market was recovering.
The month of June in 2021 saw better sales for star performers from brands like Maruti Suzuki and Kia than the June of 2022, making WagonR, Swift, Dzire and Seltos the only cars that saw any decline in figures.
Swift was the biggest loser with a decline of 8.5% followed by Seltos ( -1.88%), WagonR (-1.32%) and Dzire(-0.33%).
Hyundai have 4 cars in June 2022 YoY Top 20 performers list, Kia have 3, Tata and Mahindra have 2 cars and Toyota have just 1.

June 2022 - 20 Top-Selling Cars MoM Change

In terms of MoM change, the Innova Crysta is the top gainer with almost 150% improvement.
The second best performer in MoM improvement comes from the Hyundai i20 posting a 77.5% better figure in June compared to the May performance.
Ertiga, Bolero and Sonet are the top 3 losers posting a decline of 14.8%, 10% and 5.6%, respectively.
Ertiga was on the losers list in the May 2022 MoM as well.
Grand i10 saw a negligible decline of 1.6%.
WagonR keeps its top spot, turning May MoM decline of 952 to a rise of 2,376 units in June MoM.
