Jeep Compass Trailhawk Discontinued

Jeep India have delisted the Compass Trailhawk from their website. While Jeep haven’t officially communicated the reason behind the same, we think low sales is the key reason behind the discontinuation of the SUV. The Compass Trailhawk is a more rugged version of the regular Compass and comes with more capable off-road hardware. Jeep launched the updated Compass Trailhawk in February 2022 with a price tag of  Rs. 30.72 lakh (ex-showroom).

Unlike the standard Compass that offered both petrol and diesel engine options, the Trailhawk offered a sole 2.0L turbo diesel engine. The 2.0L turbo-diesel engine puts out 170PS of power and 350Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. However, in the 4 High mode, the Compass starts from 2nd gear and hence, only gets 8 forward gears. In 4 High mode, the 1st gear is used as a low ratio to deliver torque at slow speeds.

Speaking of its off-road centric changes, the Trailhawk offered a dedicated Rock mode, a 1-inch suspension lift kit, better water fording capacity and 205mm ground clearance. While the regular Compass gets road-biased 18-inch wheels, the Trailhawk gets all-season 225/65 R17 rubber for better off-road performance. The Trailhawk also offered a 30-degree approach angle, 34-degree departure angle and 24-degree ramp over angle.

On the features front, the Compass Trailhawk offered a 10.1-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 360-degree parking camera, projector LED headlights, ventilated and powered front seats with memory function for the driver, fully-digital and customisable instrument cluster, and terrain modes.
