Jeep Compass 5-Year Anniversary Edition Teased — Launch Soon | V3Cars

The Jeep Compass is the American SUV-maker’s most-popular and most affordable offering in the country. Jeep already offer the Compass Night Eagle, a limited edition with several gloss black inserts and design enhancements. Similarly, we expect the upcoming 5-year anniversary limited edition to boast several design enhancements along with the 5-year anniversary badge.

Mechanically, we do not expect the Compass 5-year anniversary limited edition to boast any changes. It will continue to come with a 2.0L turbo diesel and a 1.4L turbo petrol engine. The 2.0L turbo diesel engine produces 170PS of power at 3750rpm and 350Nm of torque between 1750rpm and 2500rpm.

On the other hand, the 1.4L turbo petrol engine produces 163PS of power at 5500rpm and 250Nm of torque between 2500rpm and 4000rpm. Both the turbo diesel and petrol engines offer a 6-speed manual transmission along with a 9-speed torque converter automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission respectively.

Jeep India Future Plans

Aside from the launch of the Jeep Compass 5-year anniversary limited edition, Jeep India have other interesting plans for our market too. Jeep will launch the locally-produced 2022 Grand Cherokee family SUV later this year. It will come with a 2.0L turbo petrol engine along with a capable 4-wheel-drive drivetrain. In addition to that, Jeep are also readying a sub-4m compact SUV for India that is likely to share its underpinnings and engines with the recently launched Citroen C3.
