Jeep Avenger Electric SUV Unveiled – Specs, Features, Range And Other Details | V3Cars
Jeep have showcased the Avenger electric SUV at the Paris Motor Show. The Avenger is Jeep’s first-ever battery electric vehicle and the company has now revealed its powertrain specifications, range and other details. The Jeep Avenger will go on sale in European markets next year and could make its way here soon after. Here’s what we know about the Jeep Avenger so far:
2023 Jeep Avenger Powertrain And Range
The Jeep Avenger will be powered by a Stellantis-built 54kWh battery pack and a choice of 2-wheel-drive and 4-wheel-drive drivetrain options. While the 2-wheel-drive version will make use of a single electric motor at the front axle for better efficiency, the 4-wheel-drive version will get an additional motor at the rear axle for enhanced off-road capabilities. Jeep say the Avenger’s electric powertrain will be capable of supplying 115kW, or 156PS and 260Nm of peak torque, while the claimed range stands at 400km under the WLTP cycle. However, Jeep have also stated that the Avenger will be capable of covering 550km from a single charge under ideal conditions.
The Avenger will also feature Jeep’s Selec-Terrain modes and hill descent control as standard. The Selec-Terrain system offers 6 modes – normal, eco, sport, snow, mud and sand – that alter traction control and other parameters according to the terrain.
Jeep claim the Avenger takes about 5.5 hours to charge from 0-100% using a 11kW wallbox charger. However, with a 100kW DC fast charger, the charge time for 20-80% charging comes down to 24 minutes. At peak charging speeds, a 3-min charge with a fast charger should provide the Avenger a range of 30km.

2023 Jeep Avenger Exterior Design
The 2023 Avenger is unmistakably Jeep. It features signature Jeep elements such as the 7-slat grille, albeit an enclosed version fit for an EV, trapezoidal wheel arches and X-shaped lighting elements in the taillamps. At the front, the Jeep Avenger features thin LED DRLs that sit atop recessed headlamp consoles. Jeep claim the grille is bent in such a way that it protects the headlamps in the event of a head-on collision.
The side profile features thick body cladding, bulging wheel arches and rear door handles that are integrated into the C-pillar. The rear design is quite modern by Jeep standards and resembles most compact SUVs sold today. Jeep have stated that the Avenger is 4008mm, which makes it shorter than the upcoming Mahindra XUV400 (4200mm). Jeep are yet to reveal the width and height of the Avenger yet.
2023 Jeep Avenger Interior And Features
The Jeep Avenger features a rather minimalistic interior design. The dashboard is dominated by a horizontal touchscreen infotainment system and the centre console features 2 rows of buttons for the HVAC and terrain modes. The AC vents are slim and placed along a body-coloured strip that spans across the width of the dashboard. The Avenger also features a fully-digital instrument cluster. Other highlights include:
- Automatic air conditioning
- Blind spot detection system
- Level 2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems)
- Auto high beam
- Auto-dimming rearview mirror
- Power foldable and heated ORVMs
- 360-degree parkin sensors with rear camera
- Mode 3 cable for public recharging

2023 Jeep Avenger India Launch
Jeep are yet to confirm if the Avenger will make it to India. The Jeep Avenger will go on sale in European markets in 2023. If Jeep India decide to launch the Avenger in India, it could go up against the likes of the BYD Atto 3, Mahindra XUV400, MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona and the Tata Nexon EV Max.
However, since the Avenger is based on Stellantis’ STLA Small platform, which in turn is derived from Groupe PSA’s CMP platform that underpins the Citroen C3, we could expect the French carmaker to use this powertrain to launch their first EV for the Indian market.
