Hindustan Ambassador To Make A Comeback — Launch In Next 2 Years | V3Cars
Hindustan Motors have confirmed plans to resurrect the Ambassador nameplate. Hindustan Motors and Peugeot are working together on the new Ambassador. The new Ambassador will boast a new design and powertrain.
Hindustan Motors pulled the plug on the Ambassador back in 2014 owing to a steep fall in demand. The Frech carmaker Peugoet bought the rights to the Ambassador nameplate in 2017 for Rs. 80 crore. Uttam Bose, the director of Hindustan Motors, has now revealed that the Ambassador project is under development and the launch will take place in the next two years. Both brands have reached an advanced stage of design and engine development.

Hindustan Motors will produce the new Ambassador at the Chennai plant which was earlier used to produce Mitsubishi cars. We expect the new Ambassador to retain its classic silhouette and design cues of the original Ambassador. The details about its engine options and features are yet to be released.
Supporting the rumours and now the official announcement, we have also witnessed a big spike in the share prices of Hindustan Motors. In the last five days, the share prices of Hindustan Motors grew by 45%.
