In this December 2022 Maruti Suzuki Cars Sales Analysis article, we’ll look at the car sales of Arena and Nexa for the previous month. We’ll also compare the YoY and MoM change to find out which Maruti cars’ sales improved and which ones declined.

December 2022 - Maruti Suzuki Car Sales Figures - YoY Change

7 out of 14 Maruti cars saw a drop in sales figures in our YoY Maruti Suzuki sales comparison
Maruti produced 1,12,010 cars in December 2022 compared to 1,23,016 units in December 2021
The Ignis was the top YoY gainer, with 63% growth in the month of December, followed by Baleno and Brezza with a 17% YoY rise in dispatches
The top YoY loser was Celerio, with a YoY decline of 81%, followed by S-Presso, with around 78% YoY decline
The Maruti S-Cross was discontinued over the past year. Hence, there’s no YoY comparison for December 2022.

December 2022 - Maruti Suzuki Car Sales Figures - MoM Change

Sales of Alto pair dropped by nearly half in December compared to November.
Alto pair became the top selling product for Maruti soon after its launch, but has fallen dramatically in sales ranking for the carmaker.
Maruti Suzuki sold nearly 21,000 units of the Baleno in November, compared to about 17,000 units in December, which is a MoM decrease of 19%.
Baleno is still the top selling car for Maruti.
Since its launch, the Grand Vitara was the top MoM gainer till the month of October, with over 68% growth from September to October. But in December MoM comparison, the Eeco became the top gainer, with about 47% growth.
The Grand Vitara saw an MoM growth of 39% in dispatches.
Among the top MoM losers, S-Presso and Celerio hatchbacks top the chart with about 56% drop in sales in December MoM comparison.
