BYD Atto 3 Launch Set For October 11 — ZS EV Rival | V3Cars

After recently launching the E6 electric MPV for the passenger market, BYD are gearing up to launch the new Atto 3 electric SUV on October 11, 2022. BYD have confirmed the launch date for the Atto 3 on their India website. The Atto 3 will rival the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, Tata Nexon EV Max and the upcoming Mahindra XUV400.

BYD already offer the Atto 3 in Australia with 2 battery pack options — 49.92kWh and 60.48kWh. The combined WLTP-certified range for the 2 powertrain options stands at 345km and 420km, respectively.

The BYD Atto 3 is the longest and widest SUV in its class. It also gets the class leading wheelbase of 2720mm. The MG ZS EV is the tallest of all the electric SUVs here. Overall, the Atto 3 is likely to have an impressive road presence.

BYD Atto 3

The BYD Atto 3 comes with a front mounted electric motor, which produces 203PS of power and 310Nm of torque. It does the 0-100kmph sprint in a claimed 7.3 seconds, which makes it faster than its rivals. On the features front, the BYD Atto 3 offers a panoramic sunroof, 7 airbags, a rotatable screen, power-adjustable driver and co-passenger seats, digital instrument cluster and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

It’s unclear if the aforementioned features will come with the India-spec Atto 3 as well. If BYD decide to offer ADAS with the Atto 3, it will be the only electric SUV in its segment to offer the advanced safety tech. We expect BYD to price the Atto 3 in the range of Rs. 22 lakhto Rs. 25 lakh ex-showroom.
