2023 Audi Q8 E-Tron SUV And Sportback To Launch On August 18

In a recent interaction with PTI, the head of Audi India, Mr. Balbir Singh Dhillon said the company plans to launch the Q8 E-tron on August 18. Audi’s flagship electric SUV is expected to arrive in two flavours – the Q8 E-Tron SUV and Q8 E-Tron Sportback. Both models will offer an improved 114kW battery over the current E-Tron’s 95kW battery. The Q8 E-Tron SUV and Sportback will be sold via the completely built unit (CBU) route. Hence, we can expect Audi to launch one of the top variants of both models in India. The new Q8 E-Tron SUV and Sportback will replace the current E-Tron SUV and Sportback that retail for Rs. 1.02 crore and Rs. 1.20 crore (ex-showroom), respectively.

2023 Audi Q8 E-Tron — Design

The new Q8 E-Tron models bring a couple of neat changes to the front and rear profiles over the outgoing E-Tron SUV and Sportback models. Up front, they offer an updated version of Audi’s singleframe grille with large honeycomb mesh. The new Q8 E-Tron SUV and Sportback are also the first models to boast the new 2-dimensional Audi logo. At the rear, the new Q8 E-Tron also offers a redesigned diffuser.

2023 Audi Q8 E-Tron — Improved Powertrain

The new Q8 E-Tron SUV and Sportback offer bigger battery packs with improved range over the outgoing E-Tron models. Audi offer the new Q8 E-Tron with 2 battery pack options — 50 Quattro with a 95kWh battery pack and 55 Quattro with a 114kWh battery pack. The Q8 E-Tron 50 Quattro offers 340PS of power and 664Nm of torque. The more powerful Q8 E-Tron 55 Quattro offers 408PS of power and 664Nm of torque. Audi India are more likely to launch the 55 Quattro variant in India than the 50 Quattro.

2023 Audi Q8 E-Tron — More Range And Faster Charging

With the new Q8 E-Tron range, Audi have also worked on improving driving range and charging. The Q8 E-Tron 50 Quattro delivers a WLTP-certified range of 491km and 505km with SUV and Sportback body styles, respectively. The Q8 E-Tron 55 Quattro delivers a WLTP-certified range of 582km and 600km with SUV and Sportback body styles, respectively.

In terms of charging, the Q8 E-Tron 50 Quattro models support up to 150kW DC fast chargers whereas the 55 Quattro models support up to 170kW DC fast chargers. The 55 Quattro models can be charged from 10-80% in 31 minutes, which gives it a range of 420km.
