5 Features Mahindra Thar Gets Over Scorpio N | V3Cars
The Mahindra Scorpio N and Mahindra Thar are 2 very capable off-road SUVs money can buy. While the Mahindra Thar is a hardcore off-roader built to tackle the worst off-road trails you can throw at it, the Scorpio N offers a similar experience with a lot more sophistication and practicality. If you are in the market for a hardcore off-roader for under Rs. 20 lakh, one of these will surely cross your mind.
Here, we tell you 5 features that are missing in the Mahindra Scorpio N but present in the Thar.
1. Soft-top Roof
Mahindra offer the Thar with 2 roof options — hardtop and convertible top. The convertible top gives an open top experience which you can enjoy in the trails. The Scorpio N, on the other hand, comes with a small electric sunroof.
2. Petrol 4-Wheel-Drive
If you live in Delhi-NCR and plan to keep your off-roader for a long time, the Thar petrol should be your pick. It offers the 4-wheel-drive option with the petrol engine, along with both manual and automatic transmission options. Meanwhile, the Scorpio N offers 4-wheel-drive option only with its diesel variants.

3. Lockable Glove Box
This may sound like a small feature but could come in handy for a good chunk of buyers. As the Thar comes with the option of a convertible top, Mahindra offer a lockable glove box in the Thar whereas the Scorpio N gets a non-lockable unit.
4. Boot-Mounted Spare Wheel
Keeping the hardcore SUV traits alive, the Thar continues to come with a boot-mounted spare wheel. It is easier to access and unload the tyre and also improves the Thar’s appearance on the road. The Scorpio N, on the other hand, gets an underbody-mounted spare wheel.

5. Adventure Statistics
The Mahindra Thar offers adventure statistics, which could come in handy while off-roading. The adventure statistics offers various real-time readouts like power and torque output, lean angle, power distribution, compass, G-meter, steering angle, and more.
