Skoda have revealed the next-generation Skoda Superb with a sharper design, several powertrain options and more features than ever before. The new Superb will continue to serve as Skoda’s flagship offering in global markets and it is expected to launch in India in 2024. Let’s take a closer look at the 2024 Skoda Superb.

2024 Skoda Superb Exterior Design

The new Superb follows Skoda’s latest Modern Solid design language and looks sharper and sportier than the outgoing model. Up front, the new Superb boasts Skoda’s largest version of the butterfly grille with chiselled chrome surrounds and vertical slats. The headlamps are slimmer than before and feature twin LED projector units. The side profile features a prominent character line that runs across the length of the car and door mounted ORVMs.

At the rear, the new Superb gets a wraparound LED tail lamp that are reminiscent of the units offered in Audi’s latest sedans. Skoda say the new Superb is 43mm longer than its predecessor, which should free up more space for passengers. The new Superb is 4912mm long and sports a wheelbase of 2841mm. Skoda also claim that the 2024 Superb offers an impressive drag coefficient of 0.24cd.

Skoda say the new Superb 2024 will be offered in 6 new colour options apart from the white, silver, grey and brown options carried over from its predecessor.

New Skoda Superb Interior Design And Features

The new Skoda Superb shares its interior with the new Kodiaq that was unveiled earlier this year. In its latest avatar, Skoda’s flagship sedan gets a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Skoda’s latest operating system and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The driver gets a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a 2-spoke steering wheel with capacitive buttons for various car functions.

Unlike the latest Volkswagen cars, the Skoda Superb 2024 features rotary dials for air con blower and temperature controls. There’s even a large armrest with plenty of storage space between the driver and front co-passenger, and the centre console features a wireless charging pad and tambour door which could be hiding cup holders.

As far as safety features are concerned, the new Superb offers Level-2 ADAS, 10 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, park assist, and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

2024 Skoda Superb: Powertrain Options And India Launch Details

The India-spec Skoda Superb was only offered with a single engine option towards the end of its life – the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol. The powertrain in the Superb, codenamed EA888 evo3 DQ-381-7F, was not updated to comply with BS6 Phase-2 norms. However, Skoda Auto Volkswagen India have introduced the successor to the EA888 evo3, the EA888 evo4. But, this powertrain is only available with 4-wheel-drive. The latest powertrain already powers the Volkswagen Tiguan 2023 and Skoda Kodiaq 2023.

As per sources, Skoda India’s product planning team have rejected this powertrain for the Octavia and Superb, owing to factors such as price and fuel efficiency, which leads us to believe Skoda might launch the Superb in India with the 2.0-litre turbo petrol again. When launched, the 2024 Skoda Superb will rival the likes of the Toyota Camry Hybrid and BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe in India.
