2024 Kia Clavis Expected Features Over Hyundai Exter

2024 Kia Clavis Spied – Here Are 7 Features It Is Likely To Offer Over Hyundai Exter | V3Cars

Spy shots of the Kia Clavis emerged online yet again. This time, they offer a sneak peek into the interior of Kia’s upcoming small SUV. The Kia Clavis is likely to share its platform and powertrain with the Hyundai Exter. So, in this article, we take a look at the features the Kia Clavis is likely to offer over the Exter based on the latest spy shots.

Upcoming Kia Clavis Features Over Hyundai Exter

It’s important to note that while the Kia Clavis test mule looks production-ready, we do not expect it to launch until the end of 2024. Moreover, Kia have not confirmed any features of its upcoming SUV. The following list contains features that were spotted on the Clavis test mule but are currently not available in the Hyundai Exter.

2024 Kia Clavis

Here’s how the Kia Clavis’ interior differs from the Exter B1-segment SUV:

  • Panoramic Sunroof

The latest spy shots of the Kia Clavis reveal its large panoramic sunroof. If the production-spec Kia Clavis does indeed come with a panoramic sunroof, it would make it not only the first in its segment but also the first car priced under Rs. 10 lakh (ex-showroom) to offer this feature. In comparison, the Hyundai Exter comes with a single-pane sunroof from the SX variant onwards.

  • Ventilated Seats

The Kia Clavis test mule was spotted with controls for ventilated seats on the door cards. Neither the Hyundai Exter, its direct rival - the Tata Punch - nor the bigger Venue SUVs offer ventilated seats, while the Kia Sonet facelift offers it in higher variants. Thus, the Kia Clavis could become the first car in its segment to offer this feature.

What’s even more interesting is the spy shots suggest it could feature ventilated seats for all passengers unlike the Sonet, Seltos or Creta that offer this feature for front passengers only.

  • Lighter And Airier Cabin Theme

Currently, the Hyundai Exter is available with a dual-tone theme inside the cabin. It gets a grey roof liner and pillar covers and a black dashboard, seats and door cards. The only type of customisation it offers are the option of silver inserts on the dashboard and silver, blue or sage green inserts on the seats based on the colour chosen.

The upcoming Kia Clavis is likely to offer a more premium interior with a grey interior, which should make the cabin feel large and airy. The spy shots show the Clavis’ interior finished in light and dark grey dual-tone theme and orange inserts on the seats.

Additionally, the production-spec Kia Clavis could also feature a large rear quarter glass, which is something the Hyundai Exter does not have. The rear quarter glass not only allows more light to enter the cabin but also reduces the driver’s blind spot compared to having a chunky C-pillar like in the Exter SUV.

  • Cup Holders On Rear Door Cards

Another unique feature the Kia Clavis’ spy shots reveal is cup holders on the rear door cards. Traditionally, cup holders for the rear passengers are either found in the rear seat armrest or the centre console. However, the Kia Clavis could be the first car in its segment to offer cup holders on the rear doors in addition to a large storage area for water bottles lower down. Cup holders on the rear door cars could help avoid spillage and make it easier for the passengers to reach for the cup.

  • Rear Centre Armrest

The spy shots of the Kia Clavis suggest the production-spec small SUV will offer a rear centre armrest for 2nd row passengers. An armrest makes longer journeys a lot more comfortable for occupants. However, the downside of having an armrest is that when it is folded away, it makes the the seat back quite hard and uncomfortable for the middle passenger. The Hyundai Exter does not offer a rear armrest in any of its variants.

  • 360-degree Surround View Monitor

The latest images also show the presence of cameras on the front bumper and underneath the ORVMs, suggesting the Kia Clavis could come with 360-degree surround view monitor in its higher variants. This feature is currently not available in the Exter.

  • Connected Dual Screen Layout

The other visual difference between the Exter and Clavis’ interior is likely to be the presence of connected screens in the Kia offering. While the Hyundai Exter comes with a digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system that’s housed in the same panel, the latter is quite recessed and hooded like a traditional instrument cluster. For the Clavis, we expect Kia to equip it with a seamless panel that houses both panels.
