Jeep Unveil 2024 Wrangler - Rugged SUV Becomes Posher To Rival Bronco | V3Cars
Jeep have revealed the 2024 Wrangler SUV at the New York International Auto Show. Jeep’s hardcore off-roader gets a few design changes, new features and even new off-road equipment to take on the Ford Bronco.
The current generation Jeep Wrangler, which debuted in late 2017, is now 5 years old. Jeep now has a significant competitor in the SUV market thanks to Ford's recent introduction of the Bronco. As a result, keeping its flagship model current has become a top priority for Jeep. While the latest Wrangler is only a minor facelift, several changes have been made to improve the SUV's overall appeal.
2024 Jeep Wrangler Exterior And Interior Updates
This isn't a major redesign for the Wrangler as the styling remains largely unchanged. Jep have given the 2024 Wrangler a new grille, new wheel options and new equipment that raises the height and ground clearance of certain variants than before. Despite the subtle changes, the 2024 Wrangler retains the iconic Jeep look and shape that have been popular since the model’s debut in 1986.
The latest update pays more attention to the refinement of the Wrangler as the Ford Bronco has moved the game forward in this specific aspect. Chief among the changes include integrating the external whip antenna into the front windscreen and the introduction of a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is offered as standard across all variants.
Thanks to the Ford Bronco, Jeep have given the Wrangler curtain airbags for both front and rear passengers. The curtain airbags are integrated into the overhead rails and are so small that you'd never guess they were part of the overhead trim. However, they should go a long way towards preventing head injuries in rollover or side impact accidents, where passengers' heads can easily collide with the structural cage of a Wrangler.

2024 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe Plug-in Hybrid Becomes Cheaper
Currently America’s favourite off-roader, the Jeep Wrangler 4Xe plug-in hybrid is set to become cheaper due to the addition of the hybrid setup in lower trim levels. The more extreme Rubicon, on the other hand, has gained some new features, such as a full-floating rear axle instead of the semi-float version, which is popular among light-duty trucks. All powertrain options that were offered earlier have been retained. These include the following:
- 2.0L plug-in hybrid
- 2.0L turbo petrol
- 3.6L normal petrol V6
- 6.4L normal petrol V8
