2023 Renault Kiger Launched — New Safety Features And BS6 Phase 2 Compliance | V3Cars
Renault have updated the 2023 Kiger with new safety features and BS6 phase 2 emission standards compliance. It continues to come with 1.0L normal petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol engines.
2023 Renault Kiger Safety Features
The 2023 Renault Kiger offers the following safety features as standard across the range:
- Electronic stability program
- Hill hold control
- Traction control
- Tyre pressure monitoring system
- Rear parking sensors
- Dual front airbags
- Driver seatbelt w/ pretensioner and load limiter

Features like electronic stability program, hill hold control, traction control and tyre pressure monitoring system are new to the Kiger and are standard across all the variants. Higher variants of the Kiger offer front side thorax airbags as well.
2023 Renault Kiger Engine Specifications
Renault continue to offer the Kiger with both 1.0L normal petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol engine along with the same transmission options as before. The 1.0L normal petrol engine produces 72PS of power at 6250rpm and 96Nm of torque at 3500rpm. This engine comes with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The 1.0L turbo petrol engine with the 5-speed manual transmission produces 100PS of power at 5000rpm and 160Nm of torque between 2800rpm and 3600rpm. The 1.0L turbo petrol engine with the CVT offers 100PS of power at 5000rpm and 152Nm of torque between 2200rpm and 4400rpm.
Despite complying with the upcoming BS6 phase 2 emission norms, both engine options continue to offer identical power and torque outputs as before.

Renault have hiked the prices of the Kiger by up to Rs. 50,000. The base RXE variant gets the biggest price jump thanks to the addition of the new safety features. The 2023 Kiger continues to go up against the likes of the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite and Mahindra XUV300.
