2023 Mahindra XUV400 Variant Details Leaked Ahead Of Electric SUV Launch | V3Cars

Mahindra revealed the XUV400 EV back in September 2022 but kept the prices and variant details a secret for its 2023 launch. Ahead of its launch, a document leak revealed the variant details of the upcoming electric SUV from Mahindra.

2023 Mahindra XUV400 — Dimensions

Mahindra XUV400 is the electric derivative of the XUV300 but it’s longer. Since it doesn’t use a petrol or diesel engine, it doesn’t need to meet the sub-4m length limit to remain eligible for the lower tax bracket. With a longer length, the XUV400 will look like a bigger SUV in person and offer much better road presence while somewhat justifying a higher price tag.

The XUV400 is 4200mm long, 1821mm wide, 1634mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2600mm. Take a look at the dimensions of the XUV400 against its rivals:

Because of the longer length of the XUV400 it has a 378-litre boot space, which is 121 litres more than the XUV300. In addition to that, it also offers 200mm ground clearance, which is 20mm more than that of the XUV300. Both of these areas were a cause for concern for the potential XUV300 buyers as it has the lowest boot space and ground clearance figures among B2-segment SUVs.

Despite offering a marginally smaller battery pack, the XUV400 manages to offer 19km longer claimed range than the Tata Nexon EV Max. Additionally, the XUV400 also deserves points for offering better power and torque than the EV Max.

Mahindra will launch the XUV300 in early 2023 and it will go up against the likes of the Tata Nexon EV Max, Hyundai Kona Electric, MG ZS EV and BYD Atto 3. We expect Mahindra to price the XUV400 a bit higher than the Nexon EV Max. This way, it’s undercutting the C-segment electric SUVs while offering comparable size while offering a significantly bigger vehicle than the Nexon EV Max for only a small premium.
