Lexus have opened bookings for their most-luxurious SUV, the LX. The booking amount for the LX has been set at Rs. 10 lakh. Deliveries are likely to take place in January 2023. The new-gen Lexus LX, built on Toyota’s new GA-F platform, made its global debut in October 2021.

The Lexus LX will finally undergo a generation change in the Indian market, putting numerous speculations to rest. On the design front, the Lexus LX is reminiscent of the model it replaces, while retaining the wheelbase as well as approach and departure angles. Up front, the LX gets a large signature grille with a large Lexus logo at the centre. The LED headlights have been updated with a sleeker DRL pattern as well.

The side profile of the 2023 Lexus LX remains largely unchanged, save for more pronounced and squared-off wheel arches. The window line is finished in chrome and sweeps upwards as it progresses towards the rear of the SUV. The top-spec trims feature 23-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. At the rear, the LX gets sleeker LED taillights with a connecting bar accompanied by a flat tailgate design and a large rear window.

On the inside, the Lexus LX gets all the latest technology one can expect from an SUV of this class. Taking centre stage on the dashboard is a floating 12.3-inch touchscreen display, which sits atop a 7.0-inch auxiliary display. The smaller touchscreen is responsible for the various offroad modes and ride-height control. The India-spec Lexus LX is likely to come with 5-seat and luxury 4-seat options only.

The 2023 Lexus LX comes with twin-turbocharged petrol and diesel V6 engines globally. However, Lexus have decided to bring the 3.3L twin-turbocharged V6 diesel engine to the Indian market. Badged the LX500d, this engine produces 306PS of power and 700Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and 4-wheel-drive. The 2023 LX also features updated adaptive air suspension with ride height control to offer new levels of comfort and off-road prowess.

The 2023 Lexus LX will go up against the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Land Cruiser LC300 and the Range Rover. Lexus are likely to price the 2023 LX in the range of Rs. 3 crore ex-showroom.
