Toyota India are likely to launch the 2022 Land Cruiser full-size SUV in August. While bookings were opened in February, Toyota has temporarily stopped taking orders owing to a large number of bookings in the first month itself.

The 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser will go up against other premium family SUVs like the BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz GLS and Range Rover.

Toyota revealed the 2022 Land Cruiser in global markets in June 2021. Since then, the popular Japanese SUV has garnered a lot of interest, with waiting periods stretching up to 4 years in some cases. The global shortage of semiconductors haven’t helped either.

The 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser, codenamed LC300, is an evolution of the LC200 in terms of design. It gets a large grille up front, flanked by sleek LED headlights. The side profile gets a prominent shoulder line whereas the rear profile features sleek LED tail lights and a flat tailgate.

The petrol engine produces 415PS of power and 650Nm of torque whereas the diesel engine produces 309PS of power and 700Nm of torque. Both engine options come mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel-drive. The India-spec engine options are yet to be revealed.
