2022 Range Rover Launched | V3Cars

Land Rover India have launched the 5th-gen Range Rover in India. Prices start from Rs. 2.31 Crore and Land Rover will soon reveal the prices of all the variants. The new Range Rover is available with a 7-seat option for the first time, along with both standard and long-wheelbase models. Land Rover offer the new Range Rover in SE, HSE, Autobiography, First Edition, and SV trim levels. The bookings are now open, but given the limited production of the vehicle, the deliveries may only start by late 2022.

On the design front, the new Range Rover is quite reminiscent of the earlier generation. But it sits on a re-engineered platform and boasts a new design. It now gets sleeker LED headlights flanking a broader grille. A major design change can be seen on the back, with vertically-stacked LED taillights with 3D effect.

On the inside, the new Range Rover gets a redesigned dashboard. The new 13.1-inch curved infotainment display takes the center stage and out goes the second touch panel. The AC controls are now capacitive with two rotary controllers. Other features include a 13.7-inch digital driver’s display, active noise cancellation, 3D surround-view camera, wireless charging, driver view monitor and Meridian surround sound.

On the powertrain front, Land Rover offer the new Range Rover with a choice of 3 engine options - 3.0L inline-6 turbo petrol, 3.0L inline-6 turbo diesel, and 4.4L V8 twin turbo petrol. The 3.0L inline-6 turbo petrol dishes out 400PS and 550Nm of torque. The 3.0L inline-6 turbo diesel churns out 350PS and 700Nm of torque. The 4.4L V8 twin-turbo petrol comes from BMW’s factory and offers 530PS and 750Nm of torque. Globally, Land Rover also offer plug-in-hybrid models, which may make its way to the Indian market later.

Land Rover will bring the new Range Rover as a full import. It will take on the likes of the BMW X7 (Rs. 1.15 - 1.73 crore), Mercedes-Benz GLS (Rs. 1.13 - 2.47 crore), Volvo XC90 (Rs. 90.90 lakh - 1.31 crore), and the upcoming Toyota Land Cruiser.
