2022 Maruti Suzuki Nexa Grand Vitara Spied Ahead Of July 20 Reveal | V3Cars

Maruti Suzuki will reveal the 2022 Nexa Grand Vitara hybrid SUV on July 20. Ahead of its reveal, we caught it on Gurgaon roads wearing camouflage. We expect that these are the display units for the unveiling event and Maruti Suzuki are transporting it to the venue. It’s wearing complex camouflage to keep its design a secret for another couple of days. Before this, we’ve only seen the Grand Vitara on public roads with thick and heavy camouflage, making it barely recognizable.

The recent teasers from Nexa’s official channel also confirm that the new Grand Vitara will have substantial visual differences over the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. While most of the silhouette of both SUVs will remain the same, the Grand Vitara will feature a different design for the LED DRLs, bumpers and front grille. In addition to that, it will also get a different design for the alloy wheels and unique LED tail lights design.

On the inside, the Grand Vitara Hybrid will feature the same dashboard design as the Hyryder. However, Maruti Suzuki could use a lighter shade for the upholstery and use different trim pieces as well. The 2022 Maruti Grand Vitara is likely to get the same features as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

The Grand Vitara will also feature the largest panoramic sunroof for a C-segment SUV. It will also become the first Maruti Suzuki to offer a panoramic sunroof. On the powertrain front, the Grand Vitara will come with a 1.5L mild hybrid petrol engine and a 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine. The former will also get 4-wheel-drive with terrain modes.

We expect the Grand Vitara to offer segment-best fuel efficiency as well as solid long-term reliability as it shares its strong hybrid powertrain with the Hyryder. Toyota themselves have more than 25-years of experience making fuel efficient hybrids and have pioneered the hybrid technology with the Prius and Camry in Indian as well as international markets.
