2022 Mahindra XUV400 Expected Prices

Mahindra XUV400 Electric SUV: Expected Prices Listed | V3Cars

Mahindra have revealed the XUV400 electric SUV and it’s all set to go on sale in January 2023. Like we expected, the XUV400 boasts bigger dimensions over the XUV300 and also offers a claimed driving range of over 400km on a single charge. In this article, we will share the expected prices of the XUV400 keeping its arch rivals in mind.

2022 Mahindra XUV400

The Mahindra XUV400 measures 4,200mm in length, 1,821mm in width, 1,634mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,600mm. It’s longer and wider than its petrol counterpart and also the Tata Nexon EV and solves the XUV300’s biggest issue, the shallow boot space. Thanks to the longer rear overhang, the XUV400 offers a boot space of 378 litres.

MAHINDRA XUV400 EXPECTED PRICES

Ex-showroom

Rs. 18 - 20 Lakh

We expect Mahindra to price the XUV400 in the range of Rs. 18 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh ex-showroom. It is likely to go match the prices of the Tata Nexon EV while undercutting the rest of the competition, such as the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.

Here Is Why The XUV400 May Match Nexon EV’s Price

Tata Motors is currently leading the Indian passenger electric vehicle segment and the Nexon EV is the company’s best-selling electric model. Hence, Mahindra will surely be aiming to take on Tata head on with the XUV400.

The XUV400 has a size advantage over the Nexon EV. Mahindra’s electric SUV falls under the C-segment whereas the Nexon EV is a B2-segment SUV. While the Nexon EV has the first mover advantage and a long list of features, Mahindra have traded a few premium features in the hopes of pricing the XUV400 competitively.

For instance, the XUV400 misses out on multiple features that are on offer with the Nexon EV, such as a digital instrument cluster, air purifier, ventilated seats, wireless phone charger and electric parking brake. The lack of the above mentioned features should help the Mahindra XUV400 match the price of the Tata Nexon EV.

Here Is Why The XUV400 May Undercut ZS EV And Kona Electric

While the Mahindra XUV400 may compete with the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric in terms of size, the latter are based on more premium SUV. Both the ZS EV and Kona Electric are more premium electric SUVs and have been on sale in the global markets for years now.

While the Kona Electric is due for a facelift in our market, the ZS EV comes loaded with all the bells and whistles, including blind-spot detection, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charger, electrically-adjustable driver seat and more. Hence, Mahindra should be able to undercut the ZS EV and Kona Electric while offering an SUV of the same size.

As we stated earlier, Mahindra will reveal the prices of the XUV400 in January and the deliveries will begin towards the end of the same month. We expect Mahindra to reveal the prices of the XUV400 at the 2023 Auto Expo along with a host of electric vehicle concepts.
