Kia Tease The Sonet X Line — Launch Soon | V3Cars

Kia India have teased the new Sonet X Line ahead of its launch. The Sonet X Line is expected to get similar design elements as the  Seltos X Line.

2022 Kia Sonet X Line

Back in 2020, Kia India launched the Sonet, which was later followed by the launch of the Sonet Anniversary Edition. The new Sonet X Line will sit above the top-spec GT Line and we expect the Sonet X Line to come with both turbo petrol and turbo diesel engine options.

Speaking of the changes, we can expect the Sonet X Line to offer a matte grey colour option. In addition to that, it could offer new skid plates, side skirting, different design for the alloy wheels and X Line badging. On the inside, we can expect a different quilted seat upholstery, dual-tone dashboard and X Line embossing on seats.

Sonet X Line

Mechanically, the Sonet X Line will remain unchanged. Kia could offer the Sonet X Line wtih the 1.0L turbo petrol and the 1.5L turbo diesel engines. The 1.0L turbo petrol engine produces 120PS of power at 6000rpm and 172Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 4000rpm. It comes with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. On the other hand, the 1.5L turbo diesel engine produces 100PS and 240Nm with the 6-speed manual and 115PS and 250Nm of torque with the automatic transmission.

Kia India is likely to charge a premium of around Rs. 20,000 for the Sonet X Line over the GT Line variants. The Kia Sonet X Line will rival other B2-segment SUVs, such as the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite.
