2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno To Get 5-speed AMT | V3Cars

Maruti Suzuki will offer a 5-speed AMT gearbox with the 2022 Baleno. The earlier CVT transmission may not continue with the 2022 model. This move will help the Japanese carmaker to reduce the gap between the manual and automatic variants of the 2022 Baleno.

2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno

Maruti Suzuki India are all set to launch the 2022 Baleno this month. Maruti Suzuki may replace the CVT transmission with a 5-speed AMT. The chances of the CVT to remain on sale alongside the AMT are less. It is worth noting that the Baleno will become the only car in its segment to offer an AMT. Both the Honda Jazz and Hyundai i20 offer CVT transmissions whereas the Tata Altroz could soon get a DCT transmission option.

2022 Baleno will get the dual-jet petrol engine. It will produce 90PS of power and 113Nm of torque, It should come with a 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT. Maruti Suzuki offer the same powertrain as the Swift and Dzire. With the new AMT transmission, the price gap between the manual and automatic transmission options would decrease. We expect Maruti Suzuki to charge around Rs. 50,000 premium for the AMT variants over the corresponding manual variants of the 2022 Baleno. Currently, the price gap between the manual and CVT transmission is a whopping Rs. 1.2 lakh (ex-showroom)
