It seems like Renault is planning to update the Triber soon as a document revealing the details was leaked recently. As per the document, 2021 Triber will get updated aesthetics along with some additional features. So, let’s take a look.

2021 Renault Triber

  • Dual-tone exterior colour options with blacked-out roof
  • New body colour: Cedar Brown
  • LED turn indicators on ORVMs
  • Dual horn

Interior:

  • Height adjustable driver’s seat
  • Steering mounted controls

Save for the dual-tone colours and the new Cedar Brown colour, all the above-mentioned features are expected to be limited to the top-spec RXT+ variant. Other features on the Triber are expected to remain unchanged. It gets upto 4 airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors, tilt-adjustable steering, parking camera, cooled glovebox and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Things under the hood are expected to remain unchanged. It gets a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 72PS and 96Nm mated to either a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT. Renault will introduce the Kiger’s 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine on the Triber but it is expected to go on sale by next year. The Kiger gets a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine that makes 100PS and 160Nm paired to a 5-speed MT and a CVT.

Renault is expected to launch the 2021 Triber in the coming few weeks. Expect it to be priced at a small premium over the current model which retails from Rs 5.2 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Triber has a single direct competitor in the form of Datsun GO+. It also takes on similarly priced mid-size hatchbacks like the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
