MG E230 Air Electric Quadricycle Spotted On Test Again — Debut Likely At 2023 Auto Expo
MG Motor India are likely to extend their EV portfolio with the launch of the E230 electric quadricycle. The E230 was spied undergoing tests yet again and MG could reveal it at the 2023 Auto Expo, before going on sale in 2024.
The test mule was spied wearing heavy camouflage but thanks to its quirky design, it is easy to make out that the car was the MG E230. The E230 measures around 2900mm long, making it a lot shorter than even the Tata Nano. It's worth noting that the Nano has 4 doors while the E230 is a 2-door car.

The E230 sold in Indonesia runs on 12-inch steel wheels. The Indian version is likely to make use of alloy wheels to complement the unique look of the EV. The spied car also had a spare wheel mounted on its tailgate. As the car is very small, MG will pitch the E230 as a high-tech urban runabout.
MG are likely to pack the E230 with many features. We expect the E230 to get features like a big touchscreen infotainment system, connected car technology, full-colour TFT instrument cluster, ambient light, etc.

The E230 could pack a 20kWh battery pack, which should give it a real-world range of 250km on a single charge according to the ARAI test cycle. It’s likely to offered with a choice of 2 power outputs — 40PS and 67PS. MG are likely to tweak the E230 to suit Indian conditions. Hence, we expect changes to the battery management system and air conditioning.
At launch, the MG E230 could undercut the Tata Tiago EV, which is currently the most-affordable electric vehicle in the market. Tata Motors offer the Tiago EV with 2 battery pack options — 19.2kWh and 24kWh – that offer a range of 250km and 315km, respectively.
