Nexa Fronx CNG Price (Variant-Wise Expected Price) - With Logic
In this article, we’ll estimate the ex-showroom prices of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Nexa Fronx CNG variants and explain the logic behind the calculations. We’ll also try to guesstimate which of the Fronx variants will get the CNG kit.
Note: These are our estimations based on the information available as of June 1, 2023. We’ll revise our estimations in this article as we get more details about the Fronx CNG.
Fronx CNG - Is It Even Happening Or Just A Myth?
Before we even get to estimating the Fronx CNG’s prices, we should first discuss if it’s even likely to go on sale. Because, so far, we have no official confirmation about the potential launch of the CNG variants of the Fronx.
However, once we look at Maruti Suzuki’s portfolio, we’ll see that barring a few aging cars like the Ignis and Ciaz, all of their other cars offer CNG option. Moreover, they don’t even limit it to the cheaper cars or non-SUVs. Even their current top-of-the-line car — the Grand Vitara has the CNG option in the mid-spec variants.
So, the Fronx CNG is as good as confirmed to go on sale, although not officially yet.
Fronx CNG Price Difference
Currently, Maruti Suzuki charge Rs. 90,000 for the CNG variants of any car, which is not a:
- Sedan (Dzire)
- SUV (Brezza, Gr. Vitara)
- MPV (XL6, Ertiga)
These cars carry a Rs. 95,000 premium over the non-CNG variants. Now the question arises — Is the Fronx an SUV or a hatchback? Maruti Suzuki sure would like you to believe that the Fronx is an SUV. They charge Rs. 95,000 over the petrol-manual variant of the Grand Vitara and Brezza. It’s also worth highlighting that these cars don’t have a lot of competition from CNG SUVs. Fronx on the other hand does have competition in the form of the upcoming Punch CNG and Exter CNG.
So, to remain competitive, they should charge Rs. 90,000 for the CNG variants. However, if they choose to stick with the SUV narrative, then the CNG variants could cost Rs. 95,000 more than the comparable petrol-manual variants.
I’m of the opinion that the Fronx CNG could cost Rs. 90,000 more than petrol variants. The Fronx is already quite overpriced for what it offers in comparison to its rivals. For example, the Exter and the Punch, which sit below their larger B2-segment SUVs offer a sunroof. Meanwhile, the Fronx, which sits below the Brezza in the hierarchy, doesn't. The Punch will even offer a usable boot space, which no other 5-seater CNG car currently offers except for the sedans and Tata’s own Altroz CNG.
So, it’s not as feature-loaded as its competitors while costing a lot more. I’m assuming that the demand for the Fronx receded after the price announcement and the CNG variants need to bring some of that demand back.

Maruti Fronx Delta CNG Expected Price - Rs. 9.23 Lakh
Maruti Suzuki normally offer CNG in the mid-spec variants. Moreover, they are limited to the normal petrol-manual powertrains. So, the Fronx Delta is likely to become the most affordable candidate to get the CNG in the coming months.
Going by my logic that it may cost Rs. 90,000 more, the Fronx Delta CNG could cost Rs. 9.23 lakh (ex-showroom).
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Delta Plus CNG Expected Price - Rs. 9.63 Lakh
Along similar lines, the Delta Plus CNG should cost Rs. 9.63 lakh. Since there’s no higher variant with the normal petrol-manual powertrain, this is as high as the Fronx CNG variants will go. Limiting the CNG bi-fuel option to the Delta Plus variant also means they get to keep the ex-showroom prices under Rs. 10.0 lakh. Not only does the one-million rupee mark become a psychological barrier, cars costing more also attract a much higher registration fee in several states.
