Should You Buy Kia Carens Petrol Or Diesel?
Between the 1.5L normal petrol and the turbo diesel, the choice isn’t as straightforward as the km-to-breakeven figure might suggest. It looks like the diesel engine is too expensive and requires over 1 lakh kilometres of driving to recover the higher upfront costs. However, the Carens diesel offers a far better torque output, which will certainly help when hauling a full load of 7 occupants.
Considering the better performance of the diesel engine, we believe that you can buy the Carens diesel even if you intend to drive the car for more than 60,000km. While the cost breakeven will only happen at over 1,00,000km, the performance advantage will pay itself off on a daily basis.
Hi, Do you think Carens 1.5 Petrol engine, Prestige model would be enough with 6 passenger ? For 300km once a while travel.(2 / yr). This drive would be not be more frequent And if you could suggest converting to CNG later stages, will still be performing good. Will it have any NCAP rating ?
I have decided to buy prestige plus. I am confused between 1.4 turbo petrol and the diesel engine. Ex-showroom price is same. There is an on-road price difference of 28-30 thousand only. Can you please guide? I am planning to keep the vehicle for 10+ years. Average running of my previous car is about 400km/month. Occasionally need to carry 5-6 passengers. Please guide
Hi, I also have the same confusion between prestige plus petrol vs diesel. My running will be around 1000 km p.m. Apart from the high annual maintenance cost in diesel, is there any other cost in diesel car over 10 years?

One should post a comparison of turbo petrol prestige plus and diesel. That will be a true comparison.
Comparing base variant 1.5P NA vs Diesel dont make much sense. 1.5 P NA comes with not much features, not much power on a heavy vechile. if petrol is choice i will go with ertiga than carens.
