Citroen’s Made-In-India Sub-4m SUV To Debut In May | V3Cars

Citreon kicked off its India innings recently with the launch of the C5 Aircross on 7 April 2021. And the carmaker has already started gearing up to introduce its second product for India which is expected to make its global debut in May 2021. From what we know so far, the second Citreon in India will be a sub-4m SUV.

Citreon sub-4m SUV

The SUV has already been spied testing on multiple occasions. Although the test mule was heavily camouflaged, it was identifiable due to its unique design which is in line with other Citreon model’s available globally. It gets split headlamps upfront flanking double chevron Citreon logo along with chunky front and rear bumper.

Talking about the interior, the spy shot confirms that the sub-4m SUV will get a floating touchscreen infotainment system. Since the new Citroen will be entering one of the most competitive segments i.e. the sub-4m SUV space, it should be loaded on the features front. Expect it to get features like LED headlamps, electric sunroof, connected car tech, auto AC, parking camera, alloy wheels, multiple airbags, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill launch assist and electronic stability program.

Citroen had earlier confirmed that the sub-4m SUV will be a petrol-only offering. Expect it to get a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine while it is too soon to say anything about its performance numbers and transmission options.

With the global debut set for May 2021, expect the sub-4m SUV to go on sale in India by the end of this year. Prices are expected to start around Rs 6.5 lakh. It will take on likes of the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV300 and the Ford EcoSport.
